Carbondale City Library Launches Let’s Raise the Roof Campaign
The Carbondale City Library – a member of the Northeast Kansas Library System – has launched the Let’s Raise the Roof Campaign to raise funds necessary to build a new library for the community. The new 6,000 square foot facility is projected to cost between $1.3m and $1.6m, to be raised from a variety of sources. Construction is estimated to begin in 2018.
Why a new building? In the true spirit of a community anchor, the library seeks to expand opportunities for all patrons, including:
- More space for materials (collections)
- Flexible, engaging programming space
- Increased, reliable access to computers and Wi-Fi
- A community meeting room
